Organs That Can Be Involved In LCH

Langerhans cell histiocytosis can involve many different specific organs or ‘organ systems’. Some of them are frequently involved, other involvements are only very rarely reported. There is hardly an organ which is not sometimes involved in LCH.

Usually, if the definition of LCH needs a pathological proof, the extension of the disease, based on several investigation mentioned organ by organ, is based on a clinico-radiological argument.

As most cooperative studies record specific system involvement at diagnosis, but some studies also include events during the course of LCH, the frequency of involvement is difficult to assess.
